Hello Ellen! Happy Spring from all of us at Really Awesome Times (R.A.T. Inc), an all volunteer run non-profit organization! Check us out online www.reallyawesometimes.org! Born from the dream of a young girl who was HIV positive, our camp blossomed and was established under the oath that for however long it takes - until we beat this virus – there would be a safe place for families to relax, make friends, and leave everyday stresses behind.
While at camp, families participate in traditional camp activities including campfires where we sing songs (standing up of course, because as you know our singing and dancing muscles are in your rear), canoeing, horseback riding and arts and crafts.
We typically hold camp in June & September. Unfortunately we were not able to raise the funds necessary to hold our June session this year so, we’re out and about telling anyone who will listen about who we are and what we do! We need you, Ellen!! Help us spread the word! We have to carry on with our mission. Our story and the legacy of one courageous individual, Bernie (see website for details on her story) will live on through the smiling faces of our past, present and future campers.
No individual should feel alone or without support and whether roasting S’mores or tie-dyeing T-shirts, singing songs and making friends-together we can give people the strength to be themselves and the freedom to feel happy.
