The Really Awesome Times
Letter from the President

Dear RAT Pack,

Where has the year gone? I cannot believe it is almost July. Wow, time really does fly!

This year marks my 10th year of volunteering with our family camp program. I remember my first camp weekend vividly and still have the shirt from that weekend hanging in my closet.

One of my favorite things to do during camp weekends is to thumb through photo albums from past camp sessions while swapping stories with our families. Over the years some of our campers have become our guardian angels; however, many of those smiling little campers in the pictures have graduated high school, transitioned to college or embarked on careers, and some have even started their own families. It is mind boggling how many of our campers have truly grown up right before our eyes.

With your support we will continue to help our families make memories that will last a lifetime at camp.

Sincerely,
Angie Kiger, President

Camper Spotlight on Corey

Welcome to Spotlight on Corey! A 16-year-old from Tennessee, Corey enjoys riding horses, playing on his Playstation and spending time with his family. Since turning 16, Corey has started working towards getting his driver’s permit! He's very excited! Since we last saw Corey, he’s traveled outside of his small town in Tennessee to the tropical island of Aruba! Corey had never been out of the country before and really enjoyed spending time on the beach. When you see Corey in September, be sure to ask him about the iguanas running wild around the resort!

Corey is a long time camper, he and his family, including parents and grandparents, actively participate in all of our camp programs, but Corey especially looks forward to arts and craft activities, bowling, and of course, the Teen Adventure! Corey has made some life-long friends at camp and together, we’ve made some wonderful memories we all look back on fondly. Corey and his family are looking forward to going back to camp this fall! New adventures await all of us!

Thanks to a generous underwriter, 100% of the money raised will go directly to support R.A.T.’s long standing tradition of providing free recreational, respite and other support services to the HIV infected youth and their families in the local Washington DC/Baltimore metropolitan area.

Joining us will ensure that we will once again be able to offer Fall Camp to more than 150 campers from the Washington metropolitan area.

Tax-deductible donation of $30 per person, and each bowler will receive 2 games, shoe rental, a chance to win one of the really awesome prizes, and lots of fun. Registration for the event is strongly recommended.
